DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has said that multiple initiatives are underway to improve public services and infrastructure in Dera Ismail Khan, aiming to make life easier for local residents.
Speaking at a public gathering in the city, the governor announced that four additional NADRA offices will be established in the district. He added that passport service counters will also be introduced within NADRA centres, enabling citizens to access multiple essential services under one roof.
Kundi further revealed that land acquisition for the proposed Dera Ismail Khan Greenfield Airport is progressing, with Section IV imposed on approximately 1,600 acres designated for the project. He expressed confidence that once completed, the airport would rank among the country’s largest aviation facilities.
The governor also highlighted progress on road infrastructure, stating that the tendering process for the dualisation of the Dera Ismail Khan–Dera Ghazi Khan road has been finalised. The project is being supported by the Asian Development Bank and is expected to significantly improve regional connectivity and transportation.
He said these development projects reflect the government’s commitment to enhancing public facilities and promoting economic growth in the region.
