ISLAMABAD: The Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, has reiterated Pakistan’s strong desire for regional peace, emphasizing the country’s readiness to contribute towards stability.
During a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Reza Amiri Moghadam, in Islamabad today, the Iranian diplomat expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s constructive role during recent regional conflicts. The ambassador also acknowledged Iran’s positive engagement and underscored plans to expand trade relations, particularly in oil and other commodities.
The Governor emphasized the importance of ending the Iran-US conflict to achieve long-lasting peace in the region. He highlighted the significant economic opportunities available in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and called for increased cooperation and reciprocal visits between trade and parliamentary delegations of both sides.
In response, the Iranian ambassador assured that Iran’s trade with Pakistan is expected to grow, focusing on increased imports and exports. He also pointed out that Israel remains a major obstacle to regional peace and stability.
