KHANPUR: In a shocking case from Khanpur, Punjab, a man kept his sister chained for over 15 years solely to assert control over a family property.
Law enforcement officials revealed that the accused, with the assistance of his son and niece, subjected his sister to frequent acts of torture over this extended period. The horrifying situation came to light only after neighbors heard the woman’s screams during a recent incident of abuse and promptly alerted the authorities.
Neighbors’s intervention led to the police rescuing the woman from the house where she had been chained. The main perpetrator has been detained, but his son and niece managed to escape before police arrived.
The Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) confirmed that a First Information Report (FIR) has been filed based on the victim’s husband’s complaint. Authorities are actively conducting raids across multiple locations to apprehend the remaining suspects involved in the case.
