Gold prices fall by Rs1,800 per tola in Pakistan

KARACHI: Gold prices continued their downward trend in Pakistan on Thursday, with the value of 24-karat gold dropping by Rs1,800 per tola to Rs435,636, according to the latest rates issued by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association.

The price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold also declined by Rs1,543, settling at Rs373,487. Meanwhile, 10 grams of 22-karat gold fell by Rs1,414 to Rs342,375.

The decline in local prices mirrored the international market, where gold lost $18 per ounce, bringing its price down to $4,096.

Silver prices also registered losses. The price of one tola of silver fell by Rs33 to Rs6,370, while 10 grams dropped by Rs28 to Rs5,461.

Globally, silver prices eased by $0.33 per ounce to $58.91, the association added.
