ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Belarus have reaffirmed their dedication to enhancing bilateral defence relations and expanding collaboration across various military domains.
A high-ranking Belarusian military delegation, headed by Major General Muraveiko Pavel Nikolayevich, Chief of the General Staff of the Belarusian Armed Forces and First Deputy Defence Minister, paid a visit to Air Headquarters in Islamabad, where they met with Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff.
The discussions centered on mutual interests, regional security concerns, existing defence cooperation, and future opportunities for joint military initiatives. The Pakistani Air Force leader emphasized the importance of deepening ties through joint training exercises, technological cooperation, and partnerships between defence industries of both nations.
During the talks, officials also exchanged insights on the Pakistan Air Force’s operational readiness, technological developments, and ongoing efforts to achieve self-sufficiency in defence manufacturing.
Major General Nikolayevich lauded Pakistan’s Air Force for its impressive progress, operational capabilities, and technological innovations. He expressed Belarus’s willingness to broaden the scope of defence collaboration and explore new avenues of military cooperation with Pakistan.
The meeting underscored a mutual determination between the two countries to strengthen defence bonds and pursue joint efforts in areas of strategic importance, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
