MAKKAH: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, along with Chief of Defence Force General Asim Munir, performed Umrah in Makkah with their delegation.
The delegation also included Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Ministers Khawaja Muhammad Asif and Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi, all of whom prayed for national progress, the prosperity of the Muslim Ummah, and global peace and stability.
Prior to performing Umrah, the group visited the Holy Kaaba, seeking blessings.
PM Shehbaz Sharif is in Saudi Arabia on a three-day official visit at the invitation of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.
During this visit, he is scheduled to meet with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to discuss ways to bolster the longstanding brotherly ties and cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, as well as to exchange views on regional developments.
This trip takes place amid rising tensions between the US and Iran, with Pakistan actively engaging diplomatically with regional and international partners to help de-escalate tensions and promote stability.
