KARACHI: Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has approached the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) over what he described as false, fabricated and malicious allegations being circulated against him and his son, Rawal Memon, on social media.
A formal written complaint was submitted to the Deputy Director of the NCCIA Karachi Zone on August 9, 2026, through Memon’s counsel, Advocate Syeda Malaika Naqvi of Naqvi Law Associates.
The complaint names unidentified individuals allegedly operating social media accounts, pages and groups and accuses them of harassment, creating and disseminating allegedly defamatory and malicious content, and attempting to damage the reputation of the senior minister and his son.
According to the complaint, Memon does not know the identities of the individuals allegedly behind the social media accounts involved in spreading the content.
The complaint further states that posts circulating online have alleged that a guesthouse in Gulistan-e-Johar, Karachi, where Mir Raza Ali was allegedly tortured and killed, is owned by Sharjeel Inam Memon.
Memon has urged the cybercrime authorities to identify those responsible for the alleged campaign and take action in accordance with the law.
