ISLAMABAD: Two motorcycle riders, including a woman, were killed in a fatal crash on Srinagar Highway after their bike was reportedly struck by two cars allegedly racing at high speed, police said on Monday.
According to authorities, the incident occurred when two vehicles travelling at excessive speed collided with a motorcycle carrying a man and a woman. The impact left both riders dead at the scene.
The bodies were transported to a hospital for completion of legal and medico-legal procedures.
Police said the driver of one of the cars escaped from the spot following the crash, while the other vehicle involved was taken into custody.
An investigation has been launched to determine the circumstances of the accident and identify those responsible.
The incident has renewed concerns over speeding, reckless driving and illegal racing on major roads in the federal capital.
