KARACHI: Several key roads around Three Swords in Clifton have been closed for traffic as a result of a Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) protest, according to the South Traffic Police.
The route connecting Metropole to Three Swords via Clifton Bridge has been shut down. Additionally, the roads from KPT Underpass and Boat Basin heading toward Three Swords are also blocked.
Traffic from Race Course Signal and Bath Island approaching Three Swords will be diverted to alternative routes.
Vehicles coming from the airport towards the city center are being redirected to turn left at CSD and continue their journey. Similarly, traffic from JPMC is advised to follow designated detours to reach their destinations.
Motorists traveling from Boat Basin are being diverted toward Punjab Colony, while those from Two Swords are advised to take Zamzama Street.
Traffic on Abdullah Haroon Road and Awari Signal is being rerouted towards Fatima Jinnah Road and Cantonment Station. Vehicles heading from Choudhry Khaliq-uz-Zaman Road towards Ziauddin Road are restricted from proceeding to Three Swords.
The Karachi Traffic Police have urged commuters to avoid the affected routes and utilize alternative roads to reach their destinations safely.
