LAHORE: In a recent directive, Nawaz Sharif, the President of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), has advised party officials to refrain from commenting publicly on the issue of creating new provinces, sources revealed on Monday. The instructions emphasize that party members should wait until the leadership finalizes its official stance before making any statements.
According to insiders, the party leadership has made it clear that the official policy regarding provincial reorganization will be announced by the PML-N at an appropriate time, and members are to avoid speculating or discussing the matter publicly until then.
Meanwhile, in a separate development, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad on Monday. The leaders agreed on the importance of maintaining political harmony and emphasized the need for ongoing consultation on key national issues.
During the meeting, topics covered included political developments, issues specific to Sindh, ongoing development projects, and other matters of mutual concern. The discussions were attended by several federal ministers—Muhammad Aurangzeb, Azam Nazeer Tarar, Ahad Khan Cheema, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, and Ali Pervaiz Malik—as well as Prime Minister’s Adviser Rana Sanaullah.
