ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Barrister Iftikhar Gilani following his election as the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. In a statement issued on Friday, Shehbaz expressed his optimism that Gilani would contribute effectively to the region’s development and the welfare of its residents.
The Prime Minister credited the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s victory in AJK to the dedicated efforts of party leadership, especially former Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, along with the hard work of party workers. Shehbaz emphasized that the federal government remains committed to providing full support for the progress, prosperity, and improved living standards of the people of Azad Kashmir.
Shehbaz also praised the ongoing democratic process in AJK, calling it a positive sign for the stability and democratic growth of the region.
