ISLAMABAD: Major General Faisal Naseer (retired) has been appointed as the new National Coordinator of the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) by the Government of Pakistan. The official notification, released through the Establishment Division, confirms his three-year term in this crucial role.
Faisal Naseer, who previously held significant intelligence positions including Director General of Counter Intelligence at the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), brings extensive experience to the position. His appointment is made under Section 9(1) of the NACTA Act 2013, and is on a secondment basis for a period of three years.
The appointment is effective immediately, and Faisal Naseer will serve as NACTA’s National Coordinator until further notice. This move aims to strengthen Pakistan’s counter-terrorism efforts through experienced leadership.
