KARACHI: Several key roads in Karachi have been sealed with containers ahead of a planned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) public gathering at Shahrah-e-Quaideen, as authorities move to prevent the party from holding its scheduled power show.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi is expected to address the gathering.
Traffic restrictions have been imposed on routes surrounding MA Jinnah Road, with containers placed at several points to block access.
The route connecting Numaish Chowrangi with Soldier Bazaar has also been closed, while roads and streets surrounding Quaid-i-Azam’s mausoleum have been sealed.
The road closures are expected to affect traffic flow in several central parts of the city, with commuters facing possible diversions as the PTI rally approaches.
