SANGHAR: Former Sindh provincial minister Ali Hassan Chaniho was allegedly taken away by armed men from his residence in Khipro on Monday, according to eyewitnesses.
Witnesses said a group of armed individuals arrived at the former minister’s bungalow in two vehicles and allegedly assaulted the security guards before taking control of the premises.
They reportedly confined the guards to a room and forcibly took Ali Hassan Chaniho with them before leaving the residence.
Following reports of the alleged abduction, a large number of people gathered outside the former minister’s home, with concern spreading across the area.
When contacted, Sanghar SSP confirmed that police had received information about the incident. However, he said the matter appeared to be linked to a financial dispute and that police were investigating the circumstances.
Further details regarding the former minister’s whereabouts and the identities of those involved were not immediately available.
