ISLAMABAD: Lebanon’s Interior Minister Ahmad Al-Hajjar visited the Pakistan Monument and Islamabad Police Lines on Monday as part of his two-day official visit to Pakistan.
Al-Hajjar is visiting the country at the invitation of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry accompanied him during his engagements in the capital.
The Lebanese minister was accorded a guard of honour by a smartly turned-out contingent of the Federal Constabulary upon arrival at the Pakistan Monument.
He later laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada and offered prayers in memory of the martyrs.
Officials briefed the visiting dignitary on the historical background and national importance of the Pakistan Monument. Al-Hajjar praised the monument’s architecture and acknowledged its significance as a symbol of Pakistan’s national heritage.
The Lebanese interior minister subsequently proceeded to Islamabad Police Lines, where a special police contingent presented him with a salute.
The national anthems of Pakistan and Lebanon were played during the ceremony.
Al-Hajjar inspected a special parade by Islamabad Police and expressed appreciation for the force’s professionalism, discipline and operational capabilities.
He also distributed awards among Islamabad Police personnel in recognition of their exceptional performance.
Inspector General of the Federal Constabulary Riaz Nazir Gara, Islamabad Police IG Ali Nasir Rizvi, senior police officers and DIGs were also present during the visit.
