ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani has voiced optimism over the continued success of the fixed tax regime introduced for small retailers and shopkeepers.
Speaking to journalists in Islamabad, Kayani described the initiative as a workable measure aimed at bringing more businesses into the formal tax system while addressing reservations raised by traders.
He said the government had also begun an awareness drive to increase participation in the scheme and educate retailers about the registration process.
According to the minister, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) teams will visit markets and commercial areas to meet shopkeepers directly and assist them in completing their registration.
