ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has praised Pakistan’s security forces for operations against terrorists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, saying their actions had disrupted plans to undermine peace.
In a statement, the president said security forces and law enforcement agencies had acted effectively to counter the threat. He paid tribute to those who had lost their lives in the fight against terrorism and efforts to promote global peace.
Zardari said the nation took pride in the courage of security personnel and expressed confidence that Pakistan’s armed forces and people would resist threats to the country’s stability. He added that Pakistan would continue working with its allies and friendly countries against such threats.
The president reaffirmed that operations against terrorism would continue until the threat was eliminated.
