Flour prices jump by up to Rs400 in a week across Pakistan

KARACHI: Flour prices have surged across several cities in Pakistan, with the cost of a 20-kilogram bag rising by as much as Rs400 in just one week, according to a report.

The report stated that a 20kg flour bag is now selling for Rs3,400 in Karachi, Peshawar and Islamabad.

Rawalpindi witnessed an increase of Rs347, pushing the price of a 20kg bag to Rs3,333. In Sialkot, the price climbed by Rs333 to reach Rs3,133.

In southern Punjab, flour prices in Multan increased by Rs66, taking the price of a 20kg bag to Rs2,866.

However, prices remained unchanged in Lahore and Faisalabad, where the same bag continued to sell for Rs2,300 and Rs2,200, respectively.

In Sindh, Sukkur recorded a Rs300 increase, bringing the price to Rs3,060, while flour became Rs200 more expensive in Hyderabad, where a 20kg bag is now available for Rs3,200.

Meanwhile, Quetta, the provincial capital of Balochistan, registered a Rs70 increase, taking the price of a 20kg flour bag to Rs3,030.
