KARACHI: Karachi Development Authority (KDA) Director General Syed Zain-ul-Abideen Ansari has directed officials to expedite construction of the Peoples Sky View Project in Surjani Town and promptly address shortcomings in construction quality.
During a visit to the under-construction housing scheme in Sector 7-B, the KDA chief inspected the site office, model flat and ongoing development work. He also reviewed construction progress, the standards being followed and the materials being used.
Ansari said providing affordable and quality housing was an important public need, adding that the authority’s priority was to complete the project as soon as possible so that citizens, particularly families seeking affordable homes, could benefit.
Expressing concern over the slow pace of work, he instructed the concerned executive engineer to accelerate construction and rectify the deficiencies identified during the inspection.
He also highlighted areas in the model flat that required improvement and directed the relevant officials to take corrective action without delay to ensure compliance with construction standards.
The DG KDA further ordered the executive engineer to submit a detailed report within seven days, outlining the reasons for delays and providing information about the construction materials being used, their prices and other relevant project details.
Ansari stressed that the shortcomings identified during the visit must be addressed through concrete measures. He said the report would help determine the causes of slow progress and support decisions aimed at improving construction quality and ensuring timely completion.
The Peoples Sky View Project is being developed under the supervision of the KDA with the support of the Sindh government. Located in Sector 7-B of Surjani Town, the housing scheme aims to provide affordable residential options for Karachi residents.
KDA Director Estate Enforcement Syed Zain Shah also accompanied the DG during the visit.
