ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday approved bail before arrest of accused Shahzad Ali in the fake accounts case and ordered to submit surety bonds of Rs 50000.
The two members bench of IHC headed by Chief Justice IHC Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzaib heard the bail petition of Shahzad Ali as he appeared before the court.
The IHC approved his bail before arrest over payment of Rs 50000 as surety bond.
Earlier, the accused had knocked the IHC for the bail before the arrest. The accused had made National Accountability Bureau (NAB) respondent in the case and contended that the petitioner did not get any benefit during the whole episode of the case adding that writing checks and releasing payments were a matter of routine. With the argument, the petitioner contended that he is innocent in the case.
The petitioner informed and assured the court that whenever he was called for interrogation he appeared and would appear as well during the future course of the case and requested the court to accept his bail before the arrest.
