ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to challenge Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP)’s decision to annul the NA-75 by-election in the Lahore High Court.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has approved the move as well as filing a petition challenging the action taken against administrative officers, including Commissioner and RPO Gujranwala.
According to sources, this decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday. Special Assistant to CM Punjab Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, Advocate Ali Zafar and Ali Asjad Malhi also attended the meeting.
Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan also met the Prime Minister one-on-one. The PM was briefed on the Daska by-election and the legal team advised him on the next course of action.
