Lahore: A local court of Lahore on Wednesday sent Pakistan Muslim League-N leader Javed Lateef to jail on 14-day judicial remand in the case of speech against state institutions.
The police presented Javed Lateef in a armoured vehicle to the Model Town court over conclusion of his two-day physical remand in the case of speech against state institutions.
The police insisted to send the accused to the prison on a judicial remand, while Investigation Officer (IO) told the the court that accused 14-day physical remand has completed as per law adding that investigation has also been completed with the accused.
Javed Lateef counsel opined that can a single man commit mutiny against the state or disturb law and order situation? Did Javed Lateef interview incur any harm to the state? while he prayed to the court that his client be released instead of sending him to jail on the judicial remand.
The court ordered to send Javed Lateef to jail on a 14-day judicial remand while the court also ordered to present challan after completing investigation on May 26.
