Sindh Culture Dept Corruption Reference: Hearing Postponed Owing To Leave Of Judge

Karachi: The hearing of the corruption reference of millions of rupees of Sindh department of culture and tourism against its former MD Roshan Qanasro postponed owing to leave of a judge of an accountability court of Sindh.

Police presented the main accused Roshan Qanasro in the accountability court from the prison. While co-accused and witnesses also presented in the court.

Owing to leave of the honourble judge the case was postponed until August 23. On the other hand, in the last hearing the court had recorded statements of seven witnesses.


The counsel of accused had to conduct cross questioning of the seven witnesses on their statements.

Witnesses included Gulzar Makhdoum, Muhammad Nawaz Abro, Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah, Shafqat Ali Khan, MS Kosar, Shaiekh Rashid Siddique and Zahoor Ahmed.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has accused that the all the accused were given task of promotion of culture but they didn’t do any work in any area of Sindh.

They incurred a loss of Rs 48.5 million to the national exchequer.
