NEPRA Reduces Electricity Prices For Karachiites Rs 2.59 For December Last Year

Islamabad: National Electric Price Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Wednesday approved Rs 2. 59 paisas reduction under the fuel adjustment charges for the month of December for consumers of Karachi.

A hearing was held in the NEPRA headquarter In Islamabad regarding monthly fuel adjustment charges for the month of December. Chairman NEPRA, Tauseef H Farooqui presided the hearing.

K-electric had submitted an application of Rs 1.80 per unit reduction under the fuel adjustment charges for the month of December.

After the NEPRA verification of data the per unit reduction found to be Rs 2, 59 while the previous month in November Rs 76 paisa’s were reduced under the fuel adjustment charges for only month.

The fuel adjustment charges of December will be charged more less Rs 1.83 paisas in comparision to November. However this reduction will be applicable to one month only as well.

The NEPRA authority after further checking the data will announce its detailed verdict later.

With this reduction the Karachi consumers will get a relief of Rs three billion.
