Islamabad: Former interior minister and stalwart of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Rahman Malik funeral prayers were offered in Islamabad after Zuhar prayers.
A scores of people and leaders of his party and leaders of other political parties attended the funeral. It is worth mentioning that Rahman Malik was died yesterday in the age of 70.
He was suffering from coronavirus. According to his spokesman his lungs were affected due to the global pandemic while he was hospitalized in a private hospital in the capital.
Family
The PPP leader has left behind wife and two sons as mourners. Rehman Malik was remained federal minister for interior from 2008 to 2013 in the PPP era.
Awards
He was awarded star of valor in 1987 and a sign of distinction in 1996.
Birth And Career
Rahman Malik was born in December 12, 1951 in Sialkot. Before joining the politics, he has been served in Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). He also holds office of Chief Security Officer of Benazir Bhutto.
Education
Late senator did his MSc in Statistics from Karachi University while the KU also awarded him honourary degree of Ph.D. He was author of four books.
