Heavy Rains Lash Across Country Including Islamabad, Rawalpindi

Islamabad: Heavy rains with thunderstorm lashed in the most part of the country including Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

The weather turned pleasant, beautiful and scenic after the heavy downpour, however, rainwater inundated in the various areas of the city.

Islamabad sector H-13 drowned in the rain water. Owing to heavy rains, walls of nullahs broke while the rainwater entered in many houses.

On the other hand, Water And Sanitation Agency (WASA) Rawalpindi high alerted as the rain starts.

According to Muhammad Tanveer, Managing Director (MD) WASA Rawalpindi, heavy machinery transported to lowered areas of the city.

He said that we have kept eyes on the flow of water at Nala Laye. The level of water at Katarian in Nala Laye has reached 18 fit while the water level at Gawalmandi has reached 14. 5 fit.


A huge water relay is passing through both the places of Nala Laye, he added

According to Commissioner Rawalpindi people of the area will be transported to protected places after relay at both the points reached 20 fit.

Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in the most areas of the country today while the rains will continue to lash a few days more.

As per the met department, heavy rains with thunderstorm is likely in Islamabad, Kashmir, Upper Punjab, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Eastern Balochistan.

Heavy downpours also expected in Potohar Region, Kashmir and adjoining mountain areas.
