London: Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said that the appointment of Army Chief will be conducted as per constitution and law adding that the appointment should not be made a political issue.
Talking to media in London, before meeting of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and his elder brother Nawaz Sharif in London, Khawaja categorically said that there is no any agenda in a meeting with former premier Nawaz Sharif regarding an appointment of the army chief.
The PML-N stalawart said that defence ministry, General Head Quarter (GHQ) and premier hold consultation over the appointment of the Army Chief.
He said that the consultaion on the appointment of the Army Chief will be held in November.
Khawaja Asif said that Imran Khan is the first political leader and his party is the first party, who wants interference with an institution.
