Islamabad: National Electricity Price Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Tuesday approved decrease of Rs 7. 43 per unit electricity for K-electric customers, the sole distributor of electricity in Karachi.
The Electric regulatory body also called a plan from the k-electric to reduce production cost while the NEPRA has given one week time to present a plan.
The reduction of the electricity prices will not be applicable to life line customers.
On the other hand, the federal government has demanded to increase electricity for K-electric by Rs 3.30. While the NEPRA has reserved the verdict on the insistence of the government .
