Lahore: The Lahore High Court (LHC) today (Wednesday) called Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan in his personal capacity to appear before the court at 9 o clock in morning.
Justice Tariq Saleem Shiekh remarked that how protective bail be granted without appearing before the court under which law? The judge added that Imran Khan petition for protective bail can’t be approved until he appear before the court.
Before this the anti-terrorism court had rejected his bail petition owing to his absence from the court as well.
The former premier Imran Khan has approached the LHC over rejection of his bail in the ATC Lahore. Imran Khan adopted the view that on the political rivalry the PML-N MNA Mohsin Nawaz Ranjha lodged an attempt to murder case against him.
The PTI chief said that he has been once prime minister of the country can’t even thing of the grave crime adding that secretariat police Islamabad registered unnecessary and false case.
He prayed to the court he be given a protective bail in the case.
Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh ordered Imran Khan to appear before the court to which counsel of Imran Khan apprised the court that Imran Khan is injured and he can’t appear before the court.
The court questioned that under which law protective bail can be granted without appearing before the court? While the judge said that to the advocated of Imran Khan to present Imran Khan in the court, the protective bail will be given.
Imran’s counsel argued that he is unable to walk, to which the court ordered that if he has some more complains of injury then he can come to the court in an ambulance but the accused presence in the court is necessary in the protective bail case.
The court further observed that the PTI chief daily used to of talking on the TV why he can’t appear before the court? If he wanted to withdraw the protective bail petaton then he can free to do so.
The court adjourned the hearing till tomorrow and ordered former premier Imran Khan to appear before the court.
