Karachi: Three terrorists were killed whereas four persons martyred which included two police and one rangers personnel in an operation conducted against terrorists attacking the Karachi police office Shahra-e-Faisal at Friday night.
After the successful operation security personnel declared the Karachi police office building.
The terrorists entered at the Karachi Police Office at 7:10 pm threw five to six hand grenades resorted to firing as well while after the attack rangers, police and other LEAs heavy contingent surrounded the KPO office from all the sides.
Both sides of traffic at Shahra-e-Faisal were closed for all types of traffic.
As per the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) East Muqadas Hyder said that three terrorists were killed adding that one terrorist was killed at 4th floor of the building while two were killed at the roof of the building.
The DIG East further apprised that one of the terrorist among the killed terrorists, detonated himself.
Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah himself oversaw the operation from the police control room who later also visited the Karachi police office took information of the attack.
According to spokesman of Sindh government Murtaza Wahab confirmed that two police and one rangers personnel were embraced martyrdom while 17 injured were shifted to the Jinnah hospital, Karachi.
The operation at the Karachi police office has been completed and the building has been cleared, after conclusion of the operation police and rangers personnel chanted slogans.
The Jinnah Hospital administration said that 17 injured were brought to the hospital which included rangers and police personnel as well. They added a rescue official also received two bullets but his condition is out of danger.
