Govt Hikes Electricity Rates For Export Industries By Rs 12. 13 Per Unit

Islamabad: Government implementing International Monetary Fund (IMF) conditions, has ended subsidy on electricity for exports related industries.

The federal government has made electricity expensive for export industry by increasing power rate by Rs 12. 13 per unit.

The end of subsidy on export industry will be applicable from today March 1. Before this the exports related industries were being provided electricity on the rate of Rs 19. 99.

Now after hike of Rs 12. 13 the electricity will be provided by rate of Rs 32.12.

With this measure the government wil get a whopping amout of Rs 51 billion.

On the other hand, petroleum levy on High Speed Diesel has been increased by Rs 5 after which levy rates turn 45.
