Muzzafarabad: Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) legislative Assembly is meeting today (Sunday) for election of new prime minister.
The ruling party could not finalize the candidate for the premiership.
Barrister Sultan Mahmood Group has given names of Chaudhry Akhlaq and Chaudhry Rasheed. The ruling party can get 26 votes in case they make alliance with the opposition.
There is a need of 27 votes for becoming the premier.
It is pertinent to mention here that this week, the Supreme Court of AJK had disqualified ex premier Chaudhry Tanveer Ilyas over contempt of the court.
Chaudhry Tanveer Ilyas two back to back petitions against his disqualification also rejected.
