Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday extended Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan interim bail in nine cases while his petition for exemption from appearing before the court also approved.
The IHC divisional bench headed by Chief Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzaib extended interim bail under hearing eight cases till May 3.
During course of the hearing, Imran Khan filed a petition for one day exemption from appearing before the court while his counsel, Faisal Chaudhry, apprised the court that he was ready to appear before the court for today. But today he had to appear before the Lahore High Court (LHC).
He insisted the court to extend his client bail till the first week of May.
The CJ said that we have been giving extra ordinary relief to you already and you will get final relief from an anti terrorism court (ATC) adding that don’t embarrass yourself and us .
Advocate general Islamabad said that he had said on previous hearing that Imran Khan will not appear before the court on April 18. Even we had taken security arrangements while he presented security SOPs in the court.
The CJ said that no doubt you will have taken fool proof security of the IHC, while he questioned that did Imran Khan security as former premier restored or not ?
The court accepted Imran Khan petition for the exemption from appearing before the court for one day and extending the interim bail till May 3 and adjourned the hearing.
