Karachi: The election of Karachi mayor has taken another twist as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has divided into two factions as 40 chairman’s of union councils have made their a separate group.
Sources said that another group has formed which included 20 uinion councils chairmans who have called meeting to decide to either cast vote for Jamat-e-Islami (JI) or Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
The group established with 40 UC chairmen’s have decided to bring their own mayor and deputy mayor candidates, sources added.
Who will become the mayor it can’t be said at the moment.
The ruling PPP in province as well as at center are leading with 155 seats. On the other hand the JI on second with 130 seats, PTI on third position with 63 seats, PML-N on fourth with 14 seats while JUI-F on fifth position with 4 seats.
