Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday imposed ban on to air or broadcast judicial remarks.
The IHC has given this written order while hearing a petition seeking recovery of brother of former special assistant to ex-premier and PTI chief on law and accountability Shahzad Akbar , Murad Akbar
In its order the IHC said that only a written order of the case will be aired or broadcast on a news channels only. The court also banned showing of pictures of any judge and their names during the broadcast.
In the case of violation, an action will be taken under the contempt of court.
The court added that we are writing to Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) in case of the violation the tv channel license will be cancelled.
