Islamabad: As the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has commenced consultations with the policitical parties over the upcoming general elections, a delegation of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) met with the officials of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) today.
They consulted over the upcoming general elections. The PTI who has history of having rigid stances, opted for the same as they demanded holding of general elections within 90 days after the end of the government totally neglecting the Council of Common Interest (CCI) notification on the census.
Today in meeting with ECP we raised the following issues :

1. Election shall in no case go beyond constitutional limit of 90 days.
3. Enabling political environment shall be created to conduct free & fair elections with equal political opportunities to all political parties.…
On the other hand Jamiat-Ulama-e-Islam Fazal (JUI-F) delegation apprised the ECP to hold transparent elections remaining in the ambit of the constitution.
The seven-member-JUIF delegation included Senator Abdul Ghafoor Hyderi, Senator Kamran Murtaza, Maulana Atta Ul Haq Darwaish, Jalal Uddin advocate, Rao Abdul Qayoom, Atta Ullah Shah advocate.

The PML-N delegation will meet the ECP officials tomorrow (Friday) while Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) delegation will call on Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) on August 29.
