Islamabad: The imprisoned leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), including its chairman and other key figures, seeks reconciliation with the establishment and party members are exploring solutions to improve the party’s situation. In the absence of top leaders like Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Pervez Elahi, second-tier PTI leaders are discussing strategies to address the confrontation between the party and the establishment. The PTI aims to change its relationship with the establishment and soften its stance, with hopes of fostering national unity. Sadaqat Ali Abbasi, a senior PTI leader, stated that the party is committed to bridging gaps and participating in national dialogues for fair elections. The PTI emphasizes the importance of unity for national progress, expressing readiness to collaborate with various parties and institutions. Discussions have also taken place within the party about leaders facing legal cases and participating in elections. The PTI’s core committee, whose members’ names were undisclosed, was reconstituted after significant party departures. Imran Khan did not publicly reveal its members or designate acting leadership before his arrest. The approval of the PTI chairman for the party’s attempt at reconciliation with the establishment remains uncertain.
