Islamabad: A report regarding the facilities provided to Chairman of PTI and former Prime Minister, Imran Khan, during his time in jail has been submitted to the Supreme Court’s Chief Justice’s Office.
According to an official of the prisons department, the private channel has reported that Imran Khan is facing legal action, all necessary facilities have been provided as per the jail manual, rules and law.
As per the official, the report also mentions that at the request of the individual in question, Imran Khan, he has been provided with locally sourced chicken cooked in indigenous ghee, and similarly, mutton prepared in native ghee has also been supplied to him.
Please take note that the report, submitted by the Punjab Prisons Department to the Attorney General’s Office, has been subsequently presented to the Supreme Court’s Sarmahar on behalf of the Attorney General’s Office.
As stated by the official, it should be clarified that the food items mentioned are prepared within the prison premises, and these items are made available to the individual upon request, with associated costs. Additionally, bottled mineral water is also offered upon payment.
The report also indicates that the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Insaf is permitted to take walks within the corridor situated in front of the jail.
As per an official from the Prisons Department, Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan, who is currently serving a three-year sentence in the Tosha Khana case, has been granted superior-class amenities at Kwattak Jail. While the jail does not have designated C and B class categories, Imran Khan has been given enhanced facilities akin to the better class.
