Srinagar: Senior leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, has urged heads of G-20 countries to take cognizance of India’s continuous denial of the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination acknowledged by the UN Security Council through its several resolutions.
According to Kashmir media service, Shabbir Ahmed Shah in a message from New Delhi’s Tihar jail said India is resorting to the worst state terrorism in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir to suppress the Kashmiris’ freedom movement.
He pointed out that the silence of the international community has emboldened New Delhi to continue its brutalities in the occupied territory.
The APHC leader said that the heads of the G20 countries attending the Summit must ask the Narendra Modi-led Indian government to stop military might policy and resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions and Kashmiris’ aspirations.
The two-day G20 Summit is commencing in New Delhi, tomorrow.
Pro-freedom organizations through the posters pasted in Srinagar and other areas of the Kashmir Valley appealed to the G20 countries to put pressure on the Modi-led Indian government to stop the systematic killing of innocent people in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and resolve the Kashmir dispute according to the United Nations resolutions.
Meanwhile, a report released by Kashmir Media Service on the occasion of the International Literacy Day, today, said the heavy presence of Indian military and paramilitary personnel in occupied Jammu and Kashmir is badly affecting the education, one of the basic human rights of the people.
On the other hand, speakers at a condolence reference held by the APHC-AJK chapter at its office in Islamabad, today, paid rich tribute to renowned intellectual, noted leader of Kashmir freedom movement and former Executive Director of Kashmir Media Service, Sheikh Tajammul-ul-Islam, for his unparalleled services to the Kashmir cause.
