Karachi: A protest set-in was staged outside governor house Karachi against rising prices of petroleum products, electricity and rampant inflation by Religio-political party Jamat-e-Islami Karachi (JI Karachi).
Addressing the protestors at the sit-in, the chief of Karachi JI, Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman said that a huge sum of Rs 28 billion has been paid to owners of a closed power plant.
The JI Ameer Karachi demanded the caretaker government end agreements with International Power Producers (IPPs).
He said that the governor’s house always facilitated K-electric instead of representing the people of the city.
Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman said that there is no one to here the woes of the poor and middle strata of society.
He stressed the government to bring down prices of petroleum products and electricity prices immediately.
Regarding the Palestine and Israel conflict, he said that we will not accept the two-state solution of Palestine adding that we will never accept impure Israel ever.
He also presented a salute to Palestinian mujahideen over the operation of the Al-Quds flood in Israel.
Hafiz Naeem said that if the counting of the census were exact then the landlords’ government would not have been made. But Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) sold out the census to the landlord.
He said that on the backing of the Western powers privileged elite were imposed on us and for their favor they are bombarding electricity and petrol bombs on people of the country.
JI Ameer Karachi went on to say that the people were crying over the electricity bills while petrol bombs were falling while no other party except JI taking a stand for the masses.
