Former Special envoy to United Nation High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Angelina Jolie has said that as a result of the Israeli attack, hundreds of civilians have been killed in addition to widespread destruction. She said”This is a deliberate bombing of a besieged population with nowhere to run,” She wrote. “Gaza has been an open prison for nearly two decades and is fast becoming a mass grave.”
She added that “40 percent of the dead are innocent children, and entire families are being killed, while she looks to governments around the world for support.” Millions of Palestinian civilians, including children, women and families, are victims of mass violence. While they are deprived of food, medicine and humanitarian aid, which is against international law, calls for a humanitarian ceasefire are being refused and the UN Security Council also being prevented from interfering.”The leaders of both sides are committing war crimes by not calling for a ceasefire.
The Interior Ministry in Gaza said that the initial number of victims of the Israeli bombardment of the Jabalia camp was estimated at around 400, and that the injured were mostly women and children.
