Karachi: By-elections are being held on Sunday in a five districts of Karachi.
The poling has started at 8 am which will continue uninterrupted till 5 pm.
Votes are being cast for electing chairman, vice-chairman and general member on nine seats.
As many as 54 candidates are contesting elections belonging to Jamat Islami (JI), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and others.

The constituencies where the poling are being held have 2, 06,686 registered number of voters.
Karachi’s mayor Murtaza Wahab has already won the by-elections on Ibrahim Hyderi town Union Council 7 without any competiton.
While he is also contesting elections UC 13 from Saddar. Whereas deputy mayor Salman Abdullah is a candidate for UC 7 in Gaddap town.
