Islamabad: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has demanded to impose taxes on general store commodities, agriculture and real states sectors.
In an ongoing technical level talks with the Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) the international lender has presented its more demands.
The IMF review mission visiting Pakistan for a review before next tranche of loans to Pakistan, has said that in the sectors where receiving of taxes are less then tax policy be imposed by making the tax policy effective.
The FBR breifed about task force established for tax policy tax administration.
Sources said that the international lender demanded imposition of tax on retailers, agriculture and real estate sectors.
The Pakistani officials in it briefing apprised that the authority for introducing scheme for imposing tax on retailers adding that if short fall occurred then the retailers can be imposed with fixed tax from December.
Source said that the IMF officials have also demanded consultations with provinces for imposing tax on agriculture and enforcement for tax imposition on the real estate sector.
The IMF mission also suggested the FBR amendments in tax policies and ending of tax flaws.
The sectors which have less receiving of taxes then a suggestion has been given to these sectors to conduct enforcement after making tax police impressive.
