PTI chief, Shah Mahmood Qureshi indicted in cipher case

Rawalpindi: Pakistan Tehrek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman and vice-chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Wednesday indicted in the cipher case.

A special court of Rawalpindi indicted them in the cipher case. In the course of hearing the accused refused admitting the charges.

Moreover, the official secret act court sought evidence from the prosecution.

The Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) special prosecutor Zulfiqar Abbass Naqvi, Chairman PTI and Shah Mahmooq Qureshi counsels were also appeared before the court.

The former premier wife Bushra Bibi and his sisters while family of Shah Mahmooq Qureshi were also present in the court.

The indictment comprising a two-page fixed the indictment charges under three various allegations.

Under the first allegation, the indictment reads that ex-chairman of PTI as a prime minister and Shah Mahmood Qureshi as a foreign minister violated the secret act.

It reads that the accused hoisted a secret document in a public rally on March 27, 2022.

They were indicted that accused deliberately used the cipher for personal interests.

The indictment reads that the country identity, security and foreign affairs were damaged owing to the accused illegal measures.
