Probe starts into Lal Shahbaz Qalandar Shrine gate ‘Gold’ theft.

Karachi: The theft of gold worth more than 10 million rupees from the gate of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar shrine, an inquiry has began.

According to the detail, the gold worth more than 10 million has been theft from shrine of hazarat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar in one month. after which the caretaker Awqaf minister Umar Soomro has ordered to lodged FIR by suspending the manager of the shrine.

Administrator Saleem Shaikh and Manager Masood Mangi of the Auqaf department told the inquiry officer that the golden gate had been handed over to the contractors, a construction firm, nearly six months back for construction and renovation work.

They said it was the responsibility of the contractors to protect it.

Project manager of the firm Balchand said that no formal handing over had taken place and nothing in writing was given with regard to the safety and security of the golden gate.

He said Auqaf officials had removed the CCTV cameras installed there to check criminals and terrorists.

According to the spokesperson of the Minister of Awqaf and Law said that Zubair Baloch, manager of the shrine has accepted the crime of theft before the inquiry committee.
