ISLAMABAD: The National Institute of Health (NIH) has issued an important whooping cough advisory in which there are concerns about the spread of whooping cough.  

As per detail, the National Institute of Health has issued an emergency advisory to the federal and provincial health departments, in which it is said that whooping cough is a disease caused by the toxin of the bacterium Bordetella, and its germs are spread in the air by coughing and sneezing.

According to the advisory, whooping cough can be passed from one person to another, and the number of whooping cough cases is expected to increase in the next few months.

The isolation period of whooping cough is 7 to 10 and 4 to 21 days. Its initial symptoms include mild cough, mild fever, runny nose. Antibiotics can reduce the severity of whooping cough. Keep distance from confirmed patients
