COAS exchange greetings with Nawaz and Bilawal in the President’s swearing-in ceremony.

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir met with Nawaz Sahreef and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in the President’s swearing-in ceremony.

The swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected President Asif Zardari was held in the Darbar Hall of the President’s House and the Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Qazi Faiz Isa administered the oath to him.

The Prime Minister was present on the first seat to the right of the newly elected President and the outgoing President Arif Alvi was present on the second seat to the right.

Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir and all service chiefs also participated in the ceremony. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari, Asif Bhutto Zardari, senators, members of National and Provincial Assembly, party leaders and a large number of Jiyalas were also present in the ceremony.

After the oath, Army Chief and Service Chiefs congratulated Asif Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

After the swearing-in ceremony, the Chief Justice talked with Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari in the lobby, while the Chief Justice’s wife, Sarina Isa, was also present at the ceremony.

Asif Zardari took the oath in English language and after taking the oath, the guests were treated to tea and pastries in the President’s House.

At the end of the ceremony, President Zardari and the Prime Minister also shook hands with the guests individually.
