Govt ensures IMF to speed up plan of privatization

Islamabad: The government has ensured the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to speed up on a plan of privitization.

Sources said that the federal government has prepared a plan to avoid burden of electricity distribution companies.

Whereas it has informed the IMF regarding a process of privatization of the country’s carrier Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) soon to be completed.

According to the sources of the finance ministry a work is going on the privatization of the PIA in a positive manner.

There are 25 state enterprises are included in active list of privatization. Four each institutions of financial and real state are included in the privatization list.

Similarly two institutions of industrial sector are included in the privatization program.

Meanwhile, sources apprised that as many as 14 institutions of energy related field are part of the privatization program.

In the continued program of privatization State Life Insurance is also part of the privatization program.

Moreover, Baluki, Haveli Bahadur, Guddu, Nandi Pur power plants are also part of the continued program of privatization.

All the 10 governmental electricity distribution companies are part of active privatization list.

Besides that, House Building Finance Corporation (HBFC) , First Women Bank (FWB) are also included in the active privatization program.

Pakistan Engineering Company (PEC), Sindh Engineering Limited (SEL) are also included in the privatization list.
