Islamabad: The National Electric Price Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has increased prices of electricity by Rs 2. 75 per unit for the months of April, May and June this year over the discos petitions for quarterly adjustments.
The NEPRA had held the hearing for second quarterly adjustment on February 14.
The uptick has been approved for whole of the country including Karachi. After the decision the NEPRA has sent the decision to the federal government.
The decision states that the additional collections from the consumers will be conducted from the months of April, May and June 2024.
The hike will also be applicable to the K-electric consumers.The raise will give consumers additional burden of Rs 85. 20 billions.
The central power purchasing agency has requested an uptick of Rs 5 per unit after which hearing on the petition at the NEPRA headquarter reserved the verdict.
