ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has lifted the ban on the allotment and transfer of plots by its Land and Rehabilitation Directorate.

Resulting the directives of the Islamabad High Court (IHC), the Land and Rehabilitation Directorate has issued a letter revoking an office order dated January 17, 2024, which had imposed restrictions on the allotment, transfer of plots, and issuance of No Demand Certificates (NDCs).

The Islamabad High Court instructed the CDA to lift the ban on plot allotment and transfer on March 21. However, it took four weeks for the Land and Rehabilitation Directorate to implement the court’s directives.

According to the sources, the CDA management imposed the ban on plot allotment and transfer due to its inability to curb illegal and irregular activities within the directorate.

Over the last seven years, a large number of small investors had lost billions of rupees due to transfer of plots by CDA itself which later were declared as bogus plots by the authority.
